Push America
Team and local volunteers

Volunteers
Our volunteer network of over 700 volunteers across the country provides valuable in-kind donations such as lodging, meals and events. Last year, our volunteer network provided over $100,000 in in-kind donations allowing more of the money raised to directly benefit people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope happens through creative energy, teamwork and a common belief in the mission which we are striving.

We have volunteers like Mike Sweeney who has been organizing the Friendship Visit and arrival in Jackson, CA every year during his tenure at the Arc or Amador and Calaveras Counties. Others like, Sue Hamilton, Tammy Nance and Andrea Spencer have seen almost 400 team members pass through Nebraska. The Janet Pomeroy Center and their basketball team, the Wildcats, have been beating our team members in basketball since we began our orientation in San Francisco.

It is through the work of our volunteers that the magic of the Journey of Hope happens. Whether it is a wheelchair basketball game or a Pedal for Pennies fundraiser for Special Olympics, it is our volunteers who help us have such a great impact in over 180 communities across the country. Our volunteers are our lifeblood and the reason for Journey of Hope’s success.

If you can help, or know someone that can, please let us know! We are always looking for new volunteers that can help us find new ways to serve in the community. Please contact Push America's Director of Logistics at 704-504-2400 ext. 133.
