All Push America Team Events are now open to alumni. Alumni participation has greatly increased and has also added very strong and experienced leaders to our teams. Alumni are highly encouraged to participate in Push America’s Team Events. How can I raise $3500?
Raising thousands of dollars may be an incredible challenge, but it is possible! If you are like 96% of our team members, you will raise a lot more than that! Your friends and family will be inspired by what you are committing to do and more than happy to provide you with support to reach your goals. Push America has the resources to help you reach your goals - we just need team members willing to do the work.
What does a Build America crew member do for the team?
Build America crew members facilitate the behind the scenes work
of the team while on the road traveling and visiting camps. These crew members
hold six different positions, Project Manager, Finance, Community Relations,
Public Relations, Historian, and Crew Chief. The team’s crew will be able
to work on the teams projects just as much as the rest of the team, but
they have outside duties to make sure the team logistics and community relations
are always running smooth. Crew members are also the team’s primary designated
drivers for the travel between camps and cities. These are challenging positions,
but very rewarding at the end and look great on a resume.
Can my chapter assist in helping me raise money?
No, Push America can not accept chapter fund raising on a team member’s
behalf. But you can ask everyone you know for a donation. Don’t forget
to ask the following types of organizations: Civic Clubs, Local Businesses,
Sororities, and Churches.
Do I need construction experience?
Experience can always help, but it is not a prerequisite. You will learn as
you go from others who have experience. Since safety is the number one priority,
you will never work on something you may be uncomfortable doing.
Will I assume all the duties of a camp counselor?
No, your role with campers is to be a friend and to be active in all camp programming
and activities. The training you will receive will not include how to perform
daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, etc.
Will I be driving a van?
The Build America crew members will be the primary drivers from camp to camp.
All team members are required to submit their driving records to Push America.
Only team members with good driving records will be allowed to drive. Your driving
record will be subject to approval from the Push America office.
Is there an orientation?
Team orientation will be held during the first three days of your trip. You
will receive all the training necessary to make your summer fun and successful.
