Arrival 

The arrival weekend is scheduled for May 25, 2013. The Gear Up Florida arrival weekend celebrates cycling and service across the state of Florida. Whether you are a team member, parent, friend or just a bystander, it is easy to get caught up in the excitement that surrounds this weekend. This is a weekend of celebrating abilities, accomplishments, and simply reflecting on a service to others. Service beyond self.  

This weekend is not just an end to an incredible trek; it is the start of an ongoing journey that will forever change a Gear Up Florida team member’s life. Over the course of the two weeks, Gear Up Florida team members have experienced joy, pain, exhaustion and a deeper understanding for people with disabilities. We hope that you will join us in our celebration.  

Gear Up Florida Arrival
The arrival will take place on the east side of the Florida State Capitol building at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013. Please arrive around 2:30 p.m. as the team will be arriving at 3:00 p.m. sharp! Plan on wearing shorts and lots of sunscreen! It is traditionally very warm that day, so please be prepared.  

Hotel Reservations
The Double Tree hotel in Tallahassee will be the host hotel of the 2013 Gear Up Florida arrival. The Double Tree hotel is located at 101 S Adams St. in Tallahassee, FL 32301. The Double Tree has offered rooms to parents, family and friends of the Gear Up Florida team members at a reduced rate of $99 per night.  

To reserve your room(s) guests may call (850) 224-5000. Be sure to explain you are with Push America Parent group under the Group Code PAP. Please make your reservations as soon as possible. Any reservations made after May 14, 2013 will be dependent on space available in the hotel.

**Parents do not need to make reservations for team members on the evening of May 25, 2013. Push America will make these reservations.  

Awards Reception
An awards reception to celebrate the accomplishments of the Gear Up Florida team will be held at the Double Tree hotel on the evening of Saturday, May 25. A social hour will precede the awards reception and will begin at 6:00 p.m. The awards reception will begin at 7:00 p.m. The attire for the evening is business casual, and we are expecting over 100 family, friends and Pi Kappa Phis to be in attendance. Cost for this event will be $35 per guest.

To make your reception reservations, you will need to do the following:  

• Reserve your hotel room (not your son's) with the Double Tree hotel (850-224-5000).
