SPREAD THE WORD 2010
Push America is teaming up with Special Olympics and Best Buddies for the second annual day of awareness to Spread the Word to End the Word on March 3, 2010. The goal of Spread the Word to End the Word is to get people to stop and think about their hurtful and disparaging use of the word "retard(ed)" and pledge to stop using it.

Spread the Word to End the Word is a campaign created by youth to engage schools, organizations and communities by raising the consciousness of society about the dehumanizing and hurtful effects of the R-word and encouraging everyone to stop its usage. March 3 will be a day devoted to educating and raising awareness of the abilities of people with disabilities and why the R-word should be removed from conversation.

Push America and Pi Kappa Phi will be doing its part by taking the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign to college and university campuses nationwide. Chapters of Pi Kappa Phi will be holding different events on campus on and around March 3, gathering pledges from university and community members to stop using the R-word.
